Yunan University is one of the largest and most pretigious universities in Yunan province, China. Its main campuses are located in the provincial capital city of Kunming. It has been developed into the only "National Key University" in Yunan province.

Yunan University was founded in December 1922. It is one of the "Project 211" universities in China. It has a school motto: Perfection in Moral Integrity, Excellence in Scholarly Attainments and Greatness in Career Pursuits. It has a student population of about 20,000.
